Lake James and Pisgah National Forest

Water enthusiasts may really like this place. Public boat access, canoe and kayak launch points. Lake James offers up one of the prettiest lakes in the Carolinas, offering stunning views of Table Rock. Linville Caverns 

Experience the wonders that nature created on the “inside of a mountain”. Linville Caverns provides guided tours into Humpback Mountain take visitors along a smooth walkway beside an underground stream. Stalactites, stalagmites, a vast array of mineral colors, the “Bottomless Pool,” and a glimpse of total darkness are all part of this underground trip. Approximately 25 minutes from Jellystone

Linville Gorge  

This North Carolina Attraction is touted as “The Grand Canyon of North Carolina” Linville Gorge offers an average depth of 1,400 feet, and is a haven for both the beginner and experienced hiker. Linville Gorge is the home of the Peregrine Falcon, the world’s fastest animal Located off of 221 just minutes off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Approximately 30 minutes from Jellystone

Linville Falls 

This North Carolina Attraction is definitely worth the visit. Linville Falls is the most photographed waterfall in North Carolina. The falls move in several distinct steps, beginning in a twin set of upper falls, moving down a small gorge, and finally culminating in a high-volume 90-foot drop. Linville Falls has the highest volume of any waterfall on the Northern Edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Approximately 25 minutes from Jellystone.

Blue Ridge Parkway 

Experience “America’s Drive” only 20 minutes from Jellystone Park. Experience mountain meadows and seemingly endless vistas. Split-rail fences, old farmsteads and historic structures complement spectacular views of distant mountains and neighboring valleys. The entrance to the parkway is approximately 25 minutes from Jellystone 

Orchard Altapass

The Orchard offers up family fun by the bushels! While you tap your toes to our authentic mountain music, get served up fabulous ice cream and famous Orchard  fudge, made fresh by Miss Charlotte right in the Orchard shop. Children can watch the entire lifecycle ofMonarch Butterflies at our Butterfly Conservation Center as well as thousands of our busy tree pollinators in the the Orchard beehive. Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure

Gem Mining 

Did you know Spruce Pine North Carolina is the Gem Mining capital of the United States? Even better it is only 30 minutes from Jellystone Park. Gem Mountain and the famous Emerald Village have both been featured by TLC and the Travel Channel respectively. The each promise a “Gem of a Day” 20-30 min drive from Jellystone

Biltmore Estate and Asheville NC 

On a short drive to Asheville, you'll find one of the most famous homes in the United States - Biltmore Estate.  Built in 1895 by George W. Vanderbilt, Biltmore is a 225 room French Renaissance Chateau.  It is the largest private home in America and contains many fine art treasures from all over the world. Grandfather Mountain (40-45 minute drive)
